76 johnson 35hp water pump

So I have replaced everything on the water pump including spacer and oring and the stupid thing still isn't working does anything have a clue why. I followed the manual to the letter. Plz help
 
Are you sure your intake is not clogged? not familiar with this engine does it have a telltale? Could also be just a blockage inside the engine. Does water run out of the prop when the engine is running using muffs?

Yeah I used a water hose to shoot water through the water tube with the pump off and the water goes through the system and out the tell tale. I dont make any sense why it not working
 
hmmm...just be sure that intake by the prop on the outside of the lower unit is not clogged, also check to make sure the half moon shaped key that holds the impeller on the drive shaft is properly installed.
 
Pull the water hose off the side of the engine while it's running see if water comes out, or check you tube Dangar Marine
