" I was having big time problems with my motor, tried just about everything. Looked in the manual again and light went on. SHEARED FLYWHEEL KEY.
Sure enough, the key was sticking out about 1/32 inch. Looking on the inside of the flywheel, I could see it slipped about 1/3 inch. This makes the timing off.
It runs great now. It needed a tune-up anyway. So now new plugs, points, condenser, and rebuilt carb and fuel pump
Any ideas on how this might have happened? "
