76-77, OMC stringer drive knuckle replacements

I have just replaced the knuckles on my 76-77 OMC stringer drive and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what gear lube and how much gear lube to refill the drive with. They say to use 70-90w gear lube but does it have to be marine grade or just regular gear lube? Also the intermediate shaft needs oil too but I don't know what kind or how much? any info would be greatly appreciated.
