Trying to figure out why water won't pump. 35r76s, somebody installed impellor gaskets incorrectly, flipped upper and lower positions. Switched gasket, impellor in good shape, made sure tube installed into power head correctly. Fired up and no water flow. Looked at diagram for 76 Johnson and it doesn't show the gaskets, 77 lower shows gaskets. Has the 4 bolt housing. While looking at diagram realized there is a tube that goes over shaft into pump housing and it is missing. Could this missing tube and o rings be causing lack of water flow? Checked flatness of plate, impellor pin, and even ran it without access cover for shift linkage to see if water was filling lower leg. Screens clean for water pickup. Water level in barrel 3 inches above cav plate. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated as fishing season is upon us on west coat finally.
