75 ELPTO 2 Stroke, 2001. Does warning peeozia, (warning horn), suppose to sound temporarily when switch is moved to "on"?

Yes, as it tells you the warning system is working, and should stop when the motor is started.

Most side mounted shift/throttle/key start controls have the momentary alarm test. Not all dash mounted key start controls have the momentary test module installed by the boat builder...my ProCraft did not. I installed a small horn button just under the dash at the key switch to test the alarm. Ground the tan w/blue stripe wire on the engine w/th key on to test the alarm. If it sounds off when grounded but not when you start the engine then the test module is either not working or missing all together as was my case.

Thanks, for the response. Have been looking @ forums all cross net. I know to ground the lead, guess I was in space land with my trouble shooting. It's been close to 20 that I have messed with a boat. Ranger or the boat dealer, when installed package, did not elect to install test module.
