First carb rebuild.Couple questions: The original needle had no clip attached to it but the new one has a groove and the kit came with a clip, can I omit the clip? What is the best way to remove the expansion plug?Do I need to re jet as I run at 6000 feet mostly. Thanks -B

???---------The 7520 did not leave the factory with a fixed high speed jet.--It is up to the operator to adjust for higher elevations !

What racerone said---no jet to replace, just adjust it and go. As for the clip, yes you must use it if you install the rubber tipped needle. Otherwise the needle will stick in the seat and you will experience fuel starvation. The original steel needle didn't do that, so no clip on those.

I remove the expansion plug by poking a hole in it with an about 3/32" punch and then use the punch to lever the plug out. Just don't hammer that punch in way deep and destroy the carburetor.

I am installing P/N 0396521 and I do not believe the needle has a rubber tip can you offer insight on this?

There are not many different props available for the 7.5 model.---------The picture for that float valve clearly shows the rubber tip ( black ) and the clip to install.----------Just install that clip so that it pulls the needle out when float drops !

will do.also the new as well as the old one has the rubber tip upon further inspection. Can I have some tips on setting the float level correctly? Thanks

Nevermind on the float but I did totally mess with the new needle in determining that it was indeed a rubber tip. You know pushed on it with my finger nail a couple times. Are they fragile enough to replace it because of this? Id rather save myself the headache for ten bucks if you think it is damaged.

Hey guys I am setting the float. I have the carb body upside down and the float is level to the casting but it is .030 above it.I measured with a feeler gauge. Will that work or do I need to find a way in which to bend the float arm that lowers the float while still keeping it level? Thanks

Yes it holds. I put the low speed out 15/16 of a turn. I put the high out 1/3 turn. Exactly where they were.I will let you guys know when I tank it.

It tanked fine,I think I got er. Didn't have to touch the low speed, just need to retime it.Thanks for your help and suggestions-B
