In the WOT throttle position I have noticed that there is a little more travel left (maybe 5/32") if I pull the cam follower out from the armature plate cam.Can I make an adjustment to the throttle lever in relation to the throttle shaft to give me a little more fuel at WOT? Or can the cam be adjusted to push the follower out a little more in this position? My dad thinks that this engine used to have a little more go but I am not sure. The follower starts to move right at the mark on the cam as it is now. Thanks

Make sure you are not pulling the follower out further than it is intended to go. It is supposed to open the carburetor's butterfly plate to horizontal position. Going beyond horizontal actually starts to restrict it again, which would result in slowing down instead of speeding up.

As for adjustment, other than worn parts, no. The end of the cam with the mark can be moved in or out to adjust the pick-up point, but the other end does not move in or out.

Thanks Frank,I think I will have a look at the high speed jet. I'm not convinced that there is anything wrong but I want to know for sure and satisfy my dads curiosity(memory). I'm sure the carb has not been rebuilt in 60 years although it runs very well. What is the float setting for these pups?
