Hello, My first time doing this.
I have a 75 searay with the 165 I6. Had the boat out last week and noticed it seemed to be a little sluggish. Top speed only 35 (45 normally) no big deal. Went to take her out today and it would barely start. Thought maybe the coil, replaced it. Still no go. After checking some connections etc, it started. Put her in the water and was trolling through the docks on the way out to a sunny 85 day Get to the point where I can go, hit the gas' bow up and she dies. Starts right back up, hit it again and the same thing happens. I revved it up in neutral, sounded perfect, in gear again and you guessed it, she dies. Revives up strong, give it gas in gear and the bow goes up and she dies. Turned arount and put her back on the trailer. I am not a great mechanic, I can do basics, plugs, wires, alternator starter etc.. Please help. This boat has been in my family since new in 75.
