75 Mercury 2 stroke won't start

I was out of the lake all last week and it ran fine then as we were getting ready to move to a different spot on lake the motor fired right up then quit!!. It's a 1985 75 hp mercury that wont start but will turn over just fine. I've checked gas and its good. i found a few spots in the wiring coming found the ignition switch that had the insulation cracked but wires seemed to be ok. Got a spark tester and it appears there is no spark at all 4 plugs.

Change out ignition switch and changed battery cable ends and cleaned and charged the battery and it turns over a whole lot better but still no spark!!!!!!!

Well may have found my problem. I found some broken/bare wires that are coming out of the stator under the flywheel. Can't get to them yet but i can see just them barely. any idea what to check next?

Thanks

Motor is a 1985 Mercury 75 Hp 4 cylinder Serial #0A169243

took my boat over to a friend that i used to work with and he just happens to work on boats. So after a few checks told and show me that my switch box was bad. the stator has some frayed wires but it is still putting out fine but i will be pulled flywheel and repair the wires while i wait for my switch box. Also ordered a me a DVA meter for the future.

Just changed the switch box but before i fire her up i wanted to check the wires on stator and its a good thing i did. New Stator on order
