75 Merc outboard no spark

"I have a 75 HP merc outboard,

"I have a 75 HP merc outboard, I believe its a '92, oil injected, 3 cyl. I have no spark. I unplugged the wiring harness at the engine and tried jumping across the solenoid to isolate out the ignition and kill switches. Still no spark. Can you tell me precisely how to test the stator and switch box? Do I have to take the flywheel off yet? I have a multi meter but am not overly familiar with its use. }}"
