'75 Merc 500 carb rebuild

Hi all. So, in general, how difficult is it to do a carb rebuild on a 1975 Mercury 50 hp? Just getting the carbs out of there looks daunting, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined. I do have a service manual, but I'd much rather have a video guide -- just so difficult to find videos of anyone doing this on that particular motor (or one like it). Anyone done this, and any advice?

Thanks

Just take lots of photos BEFORE you rip anything apart. Had to do this while rebuilding a Yamaha triple a customer of mine talked me into doing.

I agree those are hard to work on motors. The easiest way to get the carbs off is to disconnect/ remove everything blocking access to them--easier in the long run. The carbs themselves are simple and straight forward: just remove everything that unscrews and soak them overnight in carb cleaner.
