75 hp mariner

80s model mercury ,i changed water pump,put throttle all the way forward as the manual said but now is in forward gear all the time and no reverse, also loses power and dies after its driven for awhile.how do i solve this problem? thanks dave

Daves,First you need to change the impeller,clean the carbs and while doing the impeller check if you have fwd,neutral and rev.Then get back if this doesn't help
