75 hp 3 cyl 1998 won't start

I replaced my remote controls. I disconnected the harness and the +battery cable. I ten reconnected the w controls. when I reconnected the + battery lead I saw an electrical spark.
I tried the tilt switch on the motor. nothing. I changed the 20 amp fuse and still nothing. I checked the connections all ok. please help.

if you drew a spark with the key off then you have a wiring error or a short or something pulling current...this is wrong...probably caused when you replaced the controls...fix this before you do anything else...disconnect everything but the big wire to the motor to simplify troubleshooting..
