The other day I accidentally forgot to push the choke back in after starting up and was running fine. the next time i tried to get up to speed it would only run about half speed even with the throttle all the way turned. I realize choking it for so long gave it a gas rich mixture so today i had it in freshwater and ran all the fuel out of the line. still only gets up to about half speed. any help would be great

How long a period of time existed between the last time the engine ran normally and the time you forgot to push the choke in?

Running on one cylinder ?------Check for spark on both leads.-----TRy new sparkplugs.---Forgetting to push the choke in did NOT do any damage !

well it was running great when I went out that day but when I went to start it again to move spots I noticed the choke out. since then it has run funny

I don't know how a engine could run fine with the choke pulled out as you state "it was running great when I went out that day but when I went to start it again to move spots I noticed the choke out." however, and I'm not questioning your word... for a engine to act in that manner, the carburetor would surely need to be fouled or out of adjustment.

Both plugs were pretty mucked up so i replaced them and now the motor is running better than ever. I was under the impression that it had fresh ones when i bought it a few months ago. relieved it wasn't a carburetor issue. thanks for the quick replies and all the help
