"OK, Lower unit needs new intake screen. I need to remove bearing housing to get old out and new in. Of course I snapped one of the bolt heads off. Housing should still come off. What is best way to remove this bearing housing with out doing further damage?
Also I will replace driveshaft oil retainer since it came in the water pump kit.
Just came from dealer, he sail oil did not look to bad, I purchased "premium blend" oil.
I also got the o-ring under the bearing housing.
How do I get the bearing housing out?"

"I hope Joe jumps in too. There is no way the new is going in without removing the housing. I could crush the old to get it out. This was likely redesigned a year later because of this. The top of the bearing housing is round, and fills a lot of space, while the drwg. shows it to be square. Virtually no room for prying. The square would have allowed more room. I could mill it when I get it out to prevent this problem again, or replace the housing with a newer one.
Thanks"

OK done deal. Lots of heat and pulling upward did it.
Purchased and replaced the seals in the housing as well.
My partner in crime (father-in-law) came to my rescue. Thanks again.
