water,I've never gotten tach to work on it got a new one recently but hav'nt gotten it on yet.Any
ideas about problems? Taking carbs off to have re-
built figured that must be it.Any thoughts would be welcomed. "

Carburetors are rarely the fault (unless they are dirty from the motor sitting with fuel in them). Do a compression test and check that you have spark of at least 3/8" at each plug.
