"Will J8C plugs work for this motor. I can not get full rpm's I have spark, good compression (90psi), carbs have been cleaned, motor start, idels great just no power. I'm at a lose please can some help.."

"DO NOT attempt to run that engine with J8C plugs as they will result in piston damage due to the high heat range.

You may use J6C which is the alternative plug to the J4C plug however.

If you can not obtain the full specified rpms, you have either weak erratic spark, the throttle butterfly is not opening fully, the brass high speed jet that is located in the bottom center portion of the float chamber is not thoroughly clean, or the propeller is not matched to the boat ie you cannot expect a 6hp engine to perform properly if installed on a heavy 20' cruiser etc with a standard propeller."

Thanks for the info...Currently I have it on a 9 foot punt style boat that weights about 80 pounds. The motor will barely get on plane with only my 200 pound self and no other weight.
