7/9/18 Runs good for about 15 minutes; flywheel gets hot-you can barely touch it.
Under flywheel the advanced timing mechanism sticks & the linkage gets real hard and won't move.
Then it runs rough. after an hour to cool down then it's ok.

Replace: impellor, thermostat and cleaned the water port holes on the power heads.
Did NOT do a compression test.

What is causing the linkage to stick?

Flywheels do get hot that is normal.----Grease on the timing advance bushing may have dried up.----needs cleaning and relube.

Outboard oil. There are various other lubes and products involved with servicing the ignition. Such as GE Versilube for the reverse cut-out ring, and screw-lock for the stator screws.

Any evidence that motor was apart before ?-----Checked to see if bore of timer plate fits properly on engine block?-----Replaced the plastic bearing?
