when i pump the bubble the first time it primes up good but when i stop for a while it loses its prime. do i just replace bubble or could it be something else

Air leak or bad fuel pump.

When you operate the manual fuel pump ( aka primer bulb ) it goes hard when carburetors are full and there are no leaks.-------------When motor is running most people mistakenly believe the the bulb should stay hard !---------It simple is not the way it works !!!-------It is normal to be able to squeeze it while motor is running before it goes hard again.
