"Hi Everybody,
The motor is Model # 60ESL-70D
I am looking for a starter and having trouble. Does anybody know how many teeth are on the starting gear?
Also, this motor was previously steered with the old pully and cable system but I want to use the kind that usually goes through the "pivot/tilt tube". This motor has a solid tilt bolt. Any conversion help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, T"

"starters are available from arco. they're listed on this site, but I couldn't get them to come up. west marine also carries them. there is a two cyl. & three cyl. model. both show a 9 tooth drive
kits are available to mount the steering cable on the transom. make sure you thru-bolt, dont depend on lags."

"thank you, Andrew. is that from your website? I got a "page not available" message when I punched the arco icon. probably my clunky computer, or phone lines. the 60 might be a two cyl. but the starter is on the same page as the three."

"Scott,

Yes, that's on our site.

The Arco graphic icon on the page linked above is not a "hyperlink". The text links below the icon are for the arco catalog in PDF format. PDF requires Adobe Acrobat to installed on your computer. Adobe acrobat is a free "pdf reader" that is on most computers.

If you don't have it you can download it for free from Adobe. You can read the system requirements to see if your computer is up to it..."

"Scott,

Thanks. If it's a 60ES70 or 60ESL70 it would be a 3 cylinder.

Glad to have you on the site. Hope you will consider registering and visiting often."

"Hi,
Thanks for the info on the starter. Do you know where to find a steering conversion kit?
Thanks - T"

"several types available. transom mount, splashwell(side)mount, tube mount. also connecting hardware. teleflex has a good selection, should not be a problem finding. what will work depends on your boat & engine connection, but it's there."
