70 hp johnson 70el76

I have a 1976 Johnson 70 hp. Model 70el76. The starter needs to be replaced. The starter that is on the motor, has been repladed by a previous owner, and was kind of hacked. Can anyone tell me how many mounting holes are supposed to be on the starter housing? It looks like one of them has been removed. Its near the carburetor side. Thanks in advance

Starter is held on with a total of 3 bolts.------------1 on the front.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is the mounting tab on the front about midway between the top and bottom of the starter?

????--------It should match the 5/16-NC threaded hole on the intake manifold.------Folks do amazing things to outboard motors.--------They are desperate I think, possibly a limited budget too.
