70 hp evinrude oil injection mixture

I have a 90 model 70hp evinrud

I have a 90 model 70hp evinrude with auto oil injection for the gas mixture and the oil mix seaqms to be to high. How can I adjust this. or would I be better off disconecting it and mixing the gas myself

to premix u will have to disc your elect wiring to vro,cap off oil inlet,remove oil tank and hoses,and start premixing your fuel from that point on,at a 50.1 ratio."

There are wires going to the oil tank itself that looks like a sensor in the tank. Is that the wiring your talking about or is there something else I need to disconnect. I don't know were the VRO/OMS is. This is my first boat.

I think the question we should be asking Phil is: What makes you think the system isn't operating properly?
 
The engine was smoking excessi

The engine was smoking excessivly and the plugs were fouling bad. I've disconnected the oil system and mixed the oil and and gas. took it out on the lake today and it ran great
 
I took the plugs out and clean

I took the plugs out and cleaned them and then ran it for awhile till it would idle smooth then I changed them with a brand new set. I couldn't get the champion plugs at my local aoto parts so thew crossed them to a ksg plug

"Phil, if you are running NGK

"Phil, if you are running NGK plugs in that motor you are going to want to change them out for Champions. NGK heat ranges and Champion heat ranges are not the same even though they cross reference. The NGK plugs tend to run hotter and can do damage over time. Rule of thumb: Champions in Evenrude/Johnson and NGK in Yamaha, Suzuki and Mercury. Don't ask me how I know this.
