70 hp battery wire selection

newbie here. Early 70's evinrude 70 hp.

what wires (colors) attach to the positive & and what colors attach to the negative battery terminals.

red to positive and black to negative...the wires could also both be black with the only red at the lug....to make sure you could meter on rx1 scale and the one for the negative should read zero to the block of the motor..

to attach a picture move your curser along the row of option right above this...the 3rd from the right is ''insert image''

One thing to remember about an outboard. Red is always positive and black is negative.

I know the main 2, positive and negative, but I have 6 others to connect add well

OK......

wow that wasn't easy...
there are 6 wires, that the former owner taped in.
i don't care about horn & lights, or should i?
they are going to get replaced.
my concern is, like my car, do i have an alternator? how does the battery charge while running?
do any of these thinner wires charge my battery or does it charge with just the positive hooked to it?
