I just modified the 7.5hp carb for my 1981 Johson 4.5hp, everthing looks good, but it does not start. It has good spark and compression since I just put on a 1982 powerhead and moved the ignition over. When I installed the seperate fuel pump it had to block the vacuum hole on the block.
Does anyone have experience in these compatibility stuffs? Originally, this '80s motor has 2 lines one for the fuel, one for the vacuum. The 7.5hp old carb only has 1 line for the fuel. I there don't see a need for the vacuum line. Any idea?
