7.5 Mercury

When I pull the start cord on my 7.5 Mercury outboard the flywheel just spins and does not engage at all and then I can just rewind the cord manually. It seems like possibly a cotter pin or something like that has broken. Any Suggestions?

Blown flywheel key. Pull the flywheel, remove the remains of the key (tough job) and replace it. It's called a Woodruf key, any good hardware stores sells them.
