69b rude just quit

69' 40 hp evinrude starte

69' 40 hp evinrude started right up for about 1 min. then died lost spark in both plugs had been running great the prior to this. any starting points to where i should begin to troubleshoot thanks

"Skamz.... You don't say if the engine is electric start with a wiring harness leading to a ignition switch, a manual start with a kill switch, etc.

Regardless, remove the spark plugs. disconnect the black wire that leads from the magneto to the ignition switch or kill switch, then check the spark. If you now have spark, the obvious problem area would be either the "switch" or a short in the wire leading to it.
