68 33 Rude What is difference in gears?

Good day everybody. Just want to know if there is any difference in the forward and reverse gears. They look identical.

They are identical---------------To swap them, you have to change the forward gear bushing to what is now the reverse gear.------Some would say -" can't do that they are worn different and the result will be noisy gears "---------------------All you have to do is look at these gears and compare to a modern 35 HP----------These old gears were robust and with good lubrication will outlast the owners !!!!!

Racerone, Thanks much for the info. Yes these gears are heavy and like brand new with no wear marks whatsoever. Bearings have a little rust but will go to Motion Inc. to get them. I am in tennessee and not much in the way of generators in this area. Will start looking for the 40hp type. Thanks again. Kepp it between the shores.
