"I am trying to replace the impeller on my 67 20hp. the book says to loosen the upper bolt, use an allen wrench to take off the corrosion plate, and take off bolts under the cavitation plate. the problem is there is no allen screw and only one lower bolt, when I take the lower bolt off and loosen the upper the lower housing wont budge, I must be missing somthing, can anyone help?"
 
there is a plastic plug in the

there is a plastic plug in the top of the drive shaft housing above the cavitation plate remove it and the allen screw is inside of this housing use a long allen wrench to remove it. this holds the cavitation plate. there is 2 more bolts under this cavitation plate when you remove it. hope this will help.

"I found allen screw, there was no plug just the hole, I guess there is supposed to be a plug, anyway there is 1 bolt under the plate and one in front of it. so if I take the lower 2 bolts off and the top 1 the lower end should come off? do I have to dissconnect the shift rod, the book doesn"t say to."
