Thank you!!!!! Did not know how to start this thread. This is my 3rd boat and my first Mercruiser.
It was 21 months to the week that we started rebuilding this old hull. Yesterday we took her to the lake. My face hurts this morning. I had a huge smile on my face all day. Must have looked like a nut cake possum nawin on a sweet tater.
Anyhow, we launched and the crew held the boat in the shallows while I parked. Came back down to the ramp and there was a small crowd off to the side where Texas Gal layed up. Everyone happy an such, so no alarm. The folks there was just admiring the work. Believe me it aint much. Roll on paint, roll on gelcoat, it does not look professional but it is all ours. It took us 40 minutes to get away from the ramp.
We did the de-commission ritual then did the commission ritual. I was so glad when we ran into a rain squall. She smelled real bad until the rain washed the champaqne off. Reminded me of a gal I dated back in the 70's. She liked the rain too.
We boarded and oared back from shore. One fella said, "hope that is the last time you will use those today." It was like your pastor giving you a blessin. The oars stayed dry all day.
We were only on the lake for 4 hours but it was a good shake down. We have a couple of issues but I believe them to be minor. I will post these issues on another thread.
Really, I just wanted to extend my most sincere Thanks for all the help I received from all the folks that contribute to this site. Thank you.
Best Regards,
TxGals Dah
PS: We were so excited I don't know that we got any pictures. I will try to get and post.
