Got a couple questions about a 66 evenrude 80hp 2 stroke cleaned out carb but still seems like it going through a ton of fuel and is down on power any suggestions. Also could one hook up a low pressure fuel pump to this engine say 2-3.5 psi

Outboard fuel pumps are elegantly simple.----A new diaphragm will likely fix it.----And how much is " a ton of fuel " on this motor ?-----Do you have spark on all leads.----Post results of a compression test.

I havent done a compression test I will get you the results of that , sorry I failed to mention that I have replace the diaphragm in fuel pump and it goes through about 5gallons in 2.5 hours

Model # is ?----Electric shift or standard shift ?---I would say that is excellent fuel consumption for that motor !!-----And what else have you done on this motor.----Saves me from pointing out all the little details on that simple motor !

Model is 80693 but have to use model#80692 for parts. Yes its electric shift, engine wise all ive done is spark plugs cleaned carb and the diaphragm in fuel pump and ignition coil

The boat has set for 6 years prior to me getting it which was only on water a couple times and sat for around 10 years before that

What are you complaining about? That's not excessive for that motor. Um, at what speeds?

I didnt realize a water pump impeller would cause a problem but I have also replaced that is there a sensor that could possible need replaced? I sounds like it stumbling when trying to get up to speed thats why I thought fuel to begin with

So what is the issue with the motor ?----No power?----Won't idle ?----What pitch is the prop ?----What boat ?----A new impeller may save you a lot of grief later.

Idles fine, just is stumbling when getting up to speed, thought maybe fuel or ingition the boat is a 66 starcraft, the prop is in middle adjustment

This is really a stupid question, but did you check the intake screen under the carbs to see that it's free and clear?
