('66 60 hp vx-12) Question about low speed needles

Hello, my questions are about the needles mentioned in the title.

a) The diagram shows 4 washers per needle. Are they all the same size?
b) What type of material are they made of? I tried rubber o-rings but they didn't last long).

307583 washer, $1.00 US in 2010 (My latest book due to retiring)... I have some left in my remaining stock. Send me a PM with your email address.
 
Those 307583 packings were used on thousands of various Evinrude and Johnson models. Any Evinrude dealer should have some. Even in Canada.

Yep, I just took for granted that he had already thought of that, contacted them and they were sold out! :)
 
Thanks guys, I appreciate. So I called, get this, a Merc dealer and asked him to look into his computer for part #307583. "I can order it should be here on Tuesday ". I verified that it was the correct washer and it is.

No shipping fee!

Go figure.
