650 3cyl probs

i am getting no power to my coil pack therefor no power to my disstributer sorry bout the spelling so im getting no spark i assume the mercury switch cause im getting 12v from it what could be wrong

Cut the wire to the mercury switch and throw it away. If still no spark, find the black/ yellow tracer wire and disconnect it. If still no spark....get back to us.
