"I'm trying to get my Grandfathers boat back on the water, the boats ready but the motor has been in storage for at least 15 years! It wouldn't start of course but after cleaning up Carb it fires with only two or three pulls and seems to run surprisingly well (in a barrel). After reading several posts I will reseal water pump and replace impeller. My concern today is water leaking around the starter assy. I have portions of a service manual copied at the library that show a parts breakdown and R & R instructions for starter, it appears to be fastened to the exhaust cover. Where is this water coming from? Is this leak something I should atttempt to repair and move on or is it a symptom of a more serious problem? The picture doesn't show the amount of water leaking very well but will show you the location. Thanks in advance for any help or advice!
