Ok, cleaned the safety switch, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I have wired up the ignition switch as best I think it should be. white to s, Black to m, black/wht to m, red/wht to I, along with red from throttle cable (blue and green to blue and greenfrom throttle cable), grey to ground. Brown wire I don't know where to put.
Large brown and green connected to ampmeter.

I can amp reading at amp meter when turned to on position and start by jumping across new solenoid and then I can shut off with key, but can not get motor to turn over when moving ignition switch to start.
Please help, if possible call (805)441-5271

New solenoid, eh? Is it an OMC solenoid or is it something you got from the auto parts store? There IS a difference. If you do have the correct solenoid, try grounding the safety switch wire. If it cranks now, you have a bad safety switch or it is out of adjustment (or wired wrong).

EDIT: Whoa, wait a minute. You don't know where to put the small brown wire? It goes with the fat ground wire on the ammeter and the other end to the "B" terminal on the ign switch.

Whoa again, the red/white stripe wire is the choke wire. Where it goes depends on which choke switch you have. There were two different setups. Nevertheless, it has nothing to do with the starter operation, just choke operation..
