"I have a 1963 johnson 5.5hp model cd-20r that overheats, starts fine. Not sure if engine is air or water cooled. Please help."

Remove powerhead to gain access to the top shift rod retaining nuts and remove them, two nuts.

Remove lower unit bolts and drop lowqer unit to gain access to water pump."

I just changed my water pump o

I just changed my water pump on the same motor. Not that difficult...make sure you get the gasket that goes under the powerhead or you'll be delayed like me.
