can anyone tell me how to get

can anyone tell me how to get the lower unit apart in order to replace the water impeller? I took the 4 screws out and it dropped about 1 "

"That would be the shift rod holding it. If a brass connector is obvious at that open 1" space, remove the powerhead as the shift rod will be attached to the shift handle shaft."

"The powerhead must come off to disconnect the shift rod. Remove the 7 screws under the pan that hold the powerhead on, disconnect the throttle linkage and fuel hose and off she will go. Pretty simple. Right under it are 2 square nuts that connect the shift rod."

Hello, I'm having problems with my 63 cd20. I also need to replace my impeller. I did take out the 7bolts but I can't the power head loose for the life of me. This is the first time I've worked on a outboard. Any tips or tricks would greatly be appreciated. Thank you
