"We have done points/ condenser , plugs, motor starts, runs good, for about an hour, then begins missing slightly, and just dies. No spark visible at plugs. I havea generic manual, and wishing I could test ? Ign coil ? magneto ? This has the distributor magneto Ign ... Model slv4-13 thanx in advance , Rick"

Someone may have what the values for the coil and magneto are supposed to be.
Sorry but I don't have them.
One way of checking these parts is to wait until the engine has cooled down and take an ohm reading on the coil and magneto.
Then run it until it quits on you and then recheck the readings.
If one of the readings is way off from the first reading when the parts were cool then this part could be the problem.

Even if you have the values that these parts should have you need to test the parts before and after it quits running because it sounds like either the coil or magneto is heating up and failing.
Have you looked these parts over for signs of cracking?

"It's very possible that the rotor (580260) has a slight (very slight) imperfetion that is allowing the spark to jump from its contact point thru the rotor to the steel shaft upon which it rides. This effectively shorts out the ignition.

Replacing the rotor is the first step. If the problem continues, then the coil would be suspect."
