Hey guys,
I've got a 60hp mercury on 15ft side console tinny.
I've recently damaged my propeller and I'm looking to replace it. Its currently got a 4 blade aluminium mercury spitfire

The model number comes back as a 10.6" x 12"

I do like the performance of it, but I'm curious to see if anyone has changed to a different size or pitch.

Usually running with 2-3 people, a big fishing esky, ice, and about 75L of fuel on board.

Thanks guys.

2 quick answers:
1. At full throttle and your regular load are your RPMs in the upper half of the recommended range, preferably near the top.
2. Hows your hole shot (getting on plane)? If you firewall it with trim set to mid position and the bow comes back down in 3-4 seconds, you have a good hole shot.
If you answer yes to both questions, leave it alone!

Sluggish hole shot can be fixed with less pitch but RPMs at full throttle could be too high. But if you have a sluggish hole shot and WOT RPMs are mid range or lower, then less pitch will help both problems. Rule of thumb on here is 1" change in pitch causes 200 RPM change.....less pitch, faster hole shot, more RPMs.
