"I've got a 60hp johnson.

"I've got a 60hp johnson. It cranks good, idles good. When its put in gear it runs good until you throttle up out of a wake zone, then it chokes itself out. (this boat will run 10 - 15 mph). We have cleaned carbs, fuel lines, drained old gas. This boat has been sitting for about 1-1/2 year since last in water. I just bought this boat. Any ideas or suggestions

Assuming that the engine has good compression and proper spark (have you checked it?).....

Either the timer base is sticking (retarded spark), or you've overlooked something within the carburetor section."
