My 1996 60hp Johnson was running perfectly fine the past two years since replacing the stator, but now I can’t get it to idle for more than 5 seconds without sputtering and stalling. The primer bulb stays pressurized no problem and when I give it throttle after starting it revs and stalls. My initial thought is air in the fuel system. I already tried running off a temporary tank with a new fuel line and without the separator and still the same issue. I did kink the vro oil pickup hose and still no change (hose has been open for several years with no problems, just figured I’d give it a try).
I’m thinking about replacing all the internal fuel lines and fuel pump in case of a cracked line or a clog, but figured I’d give this thread a try before I take it all apart.
