First of all I would to thank

First of all I would to thank everyone here who has givven this novice advice. I have decided to rebuild this engine myself. There are no shop in my area that will work on older motors. I bought the Seloc manual. My question is; Do you have to use the spring compressors? I don't want to buy these tools for one rebuild. I have rebuilt other small engines with them. I just need some advise on the outboard motors

Is the motor 2 or 4 stroke? From what I've seen, a spring compressor is used for 4 strokes' inlet & exhaust valves' installation.

Where are these springs that need to be compressed?
