"hey guys, i'm new here. I have a 1987 60 hp merc. I recently installed a new water pump and cylinder plate gaskett, when I took the boat out the water pump is pumping fine. However, after 30 seconds of wide open throttle the temp alarm goes off. When throttle is back to half throttle, the alarm goes off after about 10 seconds. I can run the boat 3/4 throttle and alarm stays off, but after 3/4 throttle the alarm sounds. Any suggestions on what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.
