I just bought a boat with a 60

I just bought a boat with a 60 hp 1981 Evinrude motor on it. First couple of times out it ran great. It starts no problem and idles great.
When I put it in gear I can only go slow. If I try to give it more throttle it stalls. I can’t get it to go more 4-5 milers per hour? Any help

I have one the same as yours!
What I found with mine was to make the throttle move the timer just before it moves the carb butterflies instead of both starting to move at the same time like the book says.
An added bonus is you can set your idle speed better and easier that way!
