60 hp carb orifice plug size.

Hi all. Wondering if i should change my stock 57-d orifice carb plug to a larger size.A shop is boring all cylinders 30 thou over.all so going from stock reeds to the boyseen dual stage reeds.can i drill out the stock orifice if i do need to go up a size or 2.Or should i just rebuild carbs and stay with the 57 hole size.thank you tony.

I always go up at least one size on a rebuild, until the motor is broken in.

ok thank you. i will look for the next size up.do the size increments go up 1 at a time.if so i will need a 58 orifice.or is there a jump in the numbers between sizes.if thats the case i am unsure of the number i need. i will do some looking and find what i need for it.by changeing the stock orifice does this allter my timmig degrees. i seen some were they had a 17 degree sticker with the new size orifice.thank you tony
