60 hk mercury 4-stroke

Hi,

I have a boat with a 60 HP Mercury 4-stroke engine with approximately 60 running hours, and it has a rather strange issue. It always starts very easily and runs smoothly at both idle and higher speeds. But after about 45 minutes, the engine shuts off. Often after going from higher speeds to idle. It never dies on higher speeds but always happened at low RPM or idle. After that, it won’t start for about 30 minutes. However, once that time has passed, it runs perfectly fine again.

My first thought was, of course, that it was overheating, but the instruments show a maximum of 50°C. I also removed the cowling, and it doesn’t feel unusually hot at all. The engine has been serviced, including new fuel filters.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

There is full pressure in the primer bulb so my guess is that there is a good fuel pressure.
No alarm or fault codes, neither before it dies or after.
Is it possible that some electric component gets overheated (stator?) and kills the spark until it cools down?
And that this is cold during high speed but gets overheated when going from high speed to idle?
