I have a 2001 6 hp Mercury on my sailboat and last year it quit on me a long way from dock.I changed the plug and oil over the winter.Fired it up 3wks ago and it died on me again. This time it won`t start. It has fire but my primer pump will not stay hard. I changed it with the same problem. Any suggestion on why the fuel line won`t hold pressure.It backfired twice today trying to start it.
