Hi all,

2004 6.0 with around 150 hours.
Engine was installed new in 2009 and has original thermostat and plugs.

Issue:
Cold start is fine, however after it's up to operating temp I have to give it a little bit of throttle to start.
If I leave throttle in normal start position it will crank and not want to start.

any suggestions appreciated

thanks
Mark

not uncommon given the stuff they sell as 'gasoline', especially with an extended hot soak on a warm day.

the computer driving the injectors expects ambient air in the engine room to be less than 150 deg F - all the time. Very common for this to be exceeded on a hot soak. try opening an engine room hatch, running the blowers and cool the engine down at a fast idle for a few minutes before sutting it off. If it persists, time to get a good thermometer and start measuring the temp in the engine room.
