Hi I am attempting to remove lower leg from my 1963 Gale/viking 5 HP twin. How do I disconnect the shift shaft. I am used to a coupler window on newer model.

Ok thanx . I figured as much but thought a bit intense teardown for just a water pump replacement.Power head has to come off.-----Fairly simple in my opinion.
ThanxIt is actually simple in my opinion.---Your motor has reached the age of 60+ years due to good / simple design.-----The procedure allows you to inspect / maintain the seal at the top of the driveshaft.----This shift rod design can not go out of adjustment.---Just brilliant in my opinion.
