"Stupid question, but try as I might, I cannot find the answer in the manuals.

Is the 5.7 OSi-GF (the "Ocean Series")an EVC engine? I am looking at connecting the engine stats output to my electronics via NMEA 2000. There is a solution for EVC engines (simple) and one for non-EVC engines (complicated), so I want to make 100% sure which path to go down before I start buying parts.

Yes, the boat is brand new, although I have had some issues with the engine (fuel pump and power steering ram have both had to be replaced). I'm hoping for a "clean" season this year.

I don't know why they don't mark EVC on the engine. Contacting Volvo support was no help, although they did at least respond.
