hi to all.
just purchased a 50hp e/rude. i want to disconnect the vro oil side. is there any special
way to do this. any help appreciated.

"unplug wire harness about 12" from vro--plug oil inlet,remove oil tank/hoses,mix 50/1 oil in gas,make sure oil gets mixed in tank,purge fuel line so that the mixture is avail at carbs and ur done."

thanks for that jwb. while your on the job what are the 4 warning lights on the taco for. i am thinking one for o/heat .one for low oil in oil tank. how about the other two. the vro pump has no wiring on it for no oil warning.

hi jwb.the vro has got no oil

hi jwb.the vro has got no oil warning on pump. [was out of sight]. i disconnected low oil connector on engine harness.and started up .got a no oil warning.and found wiring on front of vro.this is the connector you mentioned earlier no problems if i disconnect it?.

"u must,..disc as u will get the horn all the time....no oil to pump,....no oil horn will go off if still connected...rem to plug the oil inlet to pump."

I need help with several items. I have a 1991 24 ft Po/toon boat with a 40 H/P evenrude, also a 1991, two days after I bought it I lost reverce. I sometimes can find reverce just as it should be but most of the time I just have no reverce. Item (2)when I am on the water my fuel priming bull sucks flat, I opened the gas caps to make sure it was not air locked "no-luck. I even put new fuel lines and primer balls( YES the arrows point the right driection) and it still does the same thing. Item (3) my starter bindex takes several atemps before it will kick in. can i replace the bindix or do I have cange the entire starter? Item (4) I am thimking about just getting a new mortor, If I do, do I have to change all my controll cables?"

disc shift cable at eng,at see if u can manually shift it to rev...
ck your fuel hose at tank,there is prob an anti-syphon valve there...repl w/a reg brass nipple,or knock the spring an ball outa your's....they stick.....if nothing there,ck pick-up tube in tank...u obviously have a restriction.u can get just a bendix,but that may not be your problem,clean the spiraling w/wd40 make sure it manually can be moved up freely,....ck batt and connections...load test batt..
A new eng,should come w/a new control box,not sure tho,many chgs being made.."
